Outsourcing your company’s HR and admin duties is by far one of the smartest moves you could make in today’s competitive world.
Human Resources, is often viewed as a back office, paper pushing, effortless job. In fact, it is far from that. The HR department, especially in today’s business arena, is business’s valuable inside partner.
Before projects begin, HR is usually, on hand to ensure that the company is compliant with all laws, regulations, and policies. From safety issues, to harassment, to fair wages. HR is there to provide the oversight to keep your company out of trouble. This is why now, more than ever, many companies prefer to outsource their HR functions.
In a recent article, “The Advantages of Outsourcing HR Functions”, by Sherrie Scott, for the online small business magazine, Chron, Sherrie points out four main reasons why outsourcing works. People OneSource agrees with her analysis and prospective. We’ve added our professional inside experience and perspective to those elements, and will now share them with you.
HR is the first step in avoiding a costly lawsuit and any company embarrassments. HR, deals with all the host of state and federal laws that impact the successful operation of a business. And yes, they also apply to a compliant employee. These laws change all the time. HR’s job is to stay on top of those changes and insure that everyone is completely aware of them. HR, makes all sides compliant to changes, and that policies aligned to these changes, are implemented and/or updated.
This is crucial if your operating a small to midsize business. Unwanted, back office cost, for departments that do not produce financial rewards, is a business’s worst nemesis. A business exist to provide a service or product, and to make a profit. An extra office space, plus computers and supplies, apart from employee wages, could be the difference between closing or keeping your doors open.
Why? Let’s look at this closer. Nobody, and I mean nobody, likes to spend an entire off day, every week, adding up “Timmy’s Time Sheet”, to make sure Timmy, receives his hard earned pay check on time. Business owners don’t have time for it! Businesses understand that time is money, and money is time. I’ll leave this one to Sherrie Scott. “Outsourcing helps employers and managers spend less time doing paperwork and more time dedicated to improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the workforce.” I would’ve tried, but I couldn’t have said it better myself.
No matter how big or small a business is, they have to and must, monitor employee performance. Many of the great businesses today understand this to its finest hair. They invest thousands, if not millions of dollars and hours, empowering and providing the curriculum’s and resources to develop what we know as, “Top Performers”. This is precisely how a handful of small companies became giants in business. They outsource what they don’t know, and focus on their strengths.
“Master your strengths and outsource your weaknesses.”
